The Owls were an unsuccessful franchise started in the league's inaugural season. The Owls were made up of the commissioner's wives: Beth Smith (wife of Josh Smith) & Christy Saxton (wife of Greg Sowards). The Owls did not have much of a chance of competing and it was assumed that more players would be on the team but as the season started potential players did not show and the team suffered as a result. It is for that reason that they did not play many games and also is why the team was dissolved in early 2013 so Christy Saxton could join Beaver Fever and Beth Smith could join the Terrorhawks.
